Zinedine Zidane was very close to signing a contract with PSG

We have been talking about Zinedine Zidane at PSG for months now. When we say “we” we mean the international press, be it Spanish, English or French. In France a few months ago a journalist from RMC Daniel Riolo has said loud and clear that the 1998 world champion will take over as PSG manager in June 2022 and that Kylian Mbappe will most likely be under him. The latter was then not at all sure that he would remain in Paris, all the press, almost the same that speaks about Zizou today, announced him in Real Madrid. Kylian Mbappé has since signed a new contract until 2025 with Paris Saint-Germain. But Zinedine Zidane, however, is not at PSG. Not yet ?

However, rumors about Zidane continue to circulate. He was scheduled to land on Monday 6 June in Qatar to unveil a statue depicting his headbutt against Marco Materazzi during the 2006 World Cup final. The statue will indeed be on display at the new sports museum in Doha. It was enough for everyone to think that the leaders of PSG would take the opportunity to meet with the former France international. And so, to advance the coach file, the position is still taken by Mauricio Pochettino. According to multiple sources, Zidane’s arrival is still ongoing. And Daniel Riolo, who also planned the signing of Lionel Messi in Paris months before it happened, didn’t budge: “I repeat it again. Until the end of the possible will judge Zidane. She is not dead, she is being discussed and meetings are still going on. They will try to the end. Until there is an officially appointed coach, I will continue to believe that they will get there. Zidane at PSG, the dream of the Parisian fans is still relevant. And for Ligue 1, because it must be admitted that to see Zinedine Zidane on the bench of a French club would be very useful for your French football championship.
