WEEKEND CHOICE: Aloe Black to Perform at Cancer Center Charity Event | Entertainment

A CHARITY CONCERT: The NCI-designated Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Comprehensive Cancer Center’s 39th Annual Fundraiser will have a new look this year. Formerly known as Winterlark and usually held in February, this year’s SummerLark is part of a fundraising campaign and will culminate in a concert on June 4 at Bailey Park featuring musician Aloe Blacc (aloeblacc.com). Gates open at 6pm and tickets are on sale at give.wakehealth.edu/get-involved/summerlark. Country singer Alex Key (alexkeymusicgroup.com), a native of Wilkes County, will also support SummerLark. Throughout its history, the event has raised over $6 million for the Wake Forest Baptist Cancer Support Program. Funds raised during the event represent 50% of the program’s annual operating budget. Organizers hope to raise over $400,000 through the campaign and concert this year. Visit Give.wakehealth.edu/get-involved/summerlark.
