Two Kentucky attractions, Mammoth Cave National Park and Louisville’s Old Seelbach Bar, were named by Travel Lemming as one of the top 150 things to do in the United States this summer. The list features the most exciting summer attractions and destinations across the country, selected by a team of online travel guides.
Topping the list are the historic Lowell Observatory in Flagstaff, Arizona, the Million Dollar Highway in Colorado, and the Fremont Solstice Parade in Seattle. The eclectic summer wish list also includes a floating taco bar in the U.S. Virgin Islands (#10), a 1920s-style lawn party in New York (#13), a car-free island in Michigan (#76), and the most popular the world’s largest open-air rodeo in Wyoming (No. 114).
Mammoth Cave National Park (No. 14) and Louisville’s Old Seelbach Bar (No. 18) were two Kentucky attractions that earned spots on the list of 150 things to do.
“We highly appreciate the inclusion of the Old Seelbach Bar in the Travel Lemming Best of USA flagship article for Summer 2022,” said Paul Sant, Executive Chef at the Seelbach Hilton. “With over 250 recognizable and unique bottles of bourbon on our shelves, many of which are Kentucky Straight Bourbon, we look forward to welcoming patrons who discover what makes our place so special.”
Travel Lemming editor Taylor Herperger added: “One of my favorite trips was having a cocktail at a bar before an impromptu tour of the hotel with a staff member – a stop in Louisville not to be missed!”
Regarding the inclusion of Mammoth Cave National Park, Travel Lemming writer Elizabeth Demolot commented, “While every national park in the US is a special place, there is nothing quite like Mammoth Caves anywhere else. The huge size of the caves is incredible. Also, being able to explore the underworld, which we rarely encounter, is a huge experience.”
The first edition of the edition’s signature summer list was selected by the Travel Lemming team of two dozen writers and editors.
Nate Hake, CEO of Travel Lemming, said: “This summer promises to be a pivotal one for the travel and hospitality industry. With so much at stake in the future of travel, we’ve decided to focus on 150 things that our team thinks are especially noteworthy for travelers this summer.”
Travel Lemming is an online travel guide that is read by more than half a million people in the US and Canada every month. It is known for its focus on encouraging travelers to “get out of the way of the lemmings”.
