New Zealand Helps Tourism with $2.8M Grant SBD

With Solomon Islands’ borders reopening quickly, Aotearoa New Zealand is happy to help the nation’s tourism sector following the current signing of a NZ$550,000 (2.8 million SBD) funding settlement between the New Zealand Ministry of International Affairs and Commerce, the Ministry Tradition and Tourism (MCT) and Ministry of Finance and Treasury (MoFT).

The settlement will help the restoration of the tourism sector from the challenges that accompanied the COVID-19 pandemic, with the purpose of stimulating a rising, sustainable and inclusive tourism sector within the Solomon Islands.

It is going to help MCT for:

  • proceed to work with operators on the usage of COVID-19 security protocols and make sure the security of tourists;
  • promote the event of tourism merchandise and minimal requirements, together with funding in key nationwide tourism property within the run-up to the Pacific Video games; in addition to
  • enhance sectoral coordination.
