SANTA BARBARA, California. – Santa Barbara Airport is adding two new flights this weekend.
United is starting non-stop flights to Chicago tonight and Southwest Airlines will start flying to Sacramento Sunday morning.
Santa Barbara Airport spokesperson for information and marketing Angie Daus says demand for flights to these destinations is growing.
A trip to Chicago was on the schedule last year, with flights scheduled from June to September. This is a plan for this year, but there are indications that the service may continue beyond this deadline in 2022.
The flight to Chicago is a red hole. It will depart at 11:45 pm and arrive at 5:00 am Chicago time.
The flight is available every day except Saturday.
Sacramento will be a daily flight departing at 10:00 AM and the trip will last about an hour.
All passengers on the first flights will receive some kind of Santa Barbara gift or treat, which will be cookies and milk for the night flight.
