Johnny Depp returned to court on Wednesday in the final week of the ongoing defamation trial against ex-wife Amber Heard.
During his testimony, he responded to some of the allegations made by Heard during his time on the podium. Among them is her claim that Depp had nothing to do with her getting a role in Aquaman.
Depp said that after Heard’s audition for the role, “She asked me if I wanted to talk to her.” [Warner Bros.].”
“I got on the phone and spoke to three senior Warner Bros. executives…,” Depp said before the objections were upheld. “I can only say that she ended up getting the job in the film. I believe I curbed their anxiety to some extent.”
Depp also commented on Heard’s insinuations that he pushed his ex-girlfriend. Kate Moss downstairs. Earlier Wednesday, Moss made a video call to dispute those claims. Depp revealed that Heard took the story he shared with her about what happened and “turned it into a very embarrassing incident in her mind.”
In addition, Depp denied claims that he assaulted Heard on their 2015 honeymoon and called Heard’s testimony in which she claimed that Depp repeatedly physically and sexually abused her “unimaginably cruel, brutal and completely false.”
Judge Penny Azkarat appointed closing arguments for 27 May.
