HTA selects new company to promote mainland tourism

HONOLULU (KHON2) — Hawaii’s tourism industry is set to change as the Hawaii Tourism Authority has hired a new company to promote tourism from the mainland.

HTA has just announced a contract with the Hawaii Native Development Board. The Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau held the contract for years.

The HTA said in a statement that services under the new contract include support for Hawaii’s tourism website, app and social media. The HVCB contract ends June 29th.

“We understand that the process is ongoing and we will follow the example of the HTA in the days when
forward to maintain the integrity of this process,” the CNHA said in a statement.

Nexstar Media Inc., the parent company of KHON2, is a subcontractor of CNHA.
