FRANKFURT, June 11 (Reuters) – German Chancellor Olaf Scholz will go to Kyiv together with his counterparts from France and Italy forward of the G-7 summit in late June, German newspaper Bild am Sonntag reported on Saturday.

He cites French and Ukrainian authorities sources.

A German authorities spokesman instructed Reuters: “We won’t verify that.” When requested by Reuters, the Élysée Palace declined to verify the knowledge. The Italian authorities didn’t instantly reply to requests for remark.

Not one of the three leaders has been in Kyiv since Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine in February.

French President Emmanuel Macron has sought to take care of a dialogue with Russian President Vladimir Putin for the reason that starting of the conflict.

His stance has been criticized by some Japanese and Baltic companions in Europe as they see it as undermining efforts to push Putin to the negotiating desk. learn extra
