Ewan McGregor: I have a lot to be thankful for | Entertainment

Ewan McGregor has a lot to be thankful for.

The 51-year-old actor, who grew up in the Scottish market town of Criff, has had a 30-year acting career that catapulted him to Hollywood stardom, and Ewen appreciates the support he has always received from his family.

He shared, “I have a lot to be grateful for in regards to my mom and dad, that’s for sure.”

In fact, Yuen was inspired to become an actor by his uncle Denis.

Reflecting on his uncle’s influence, Ewen explained: “He was an actor, he came from Criff and he was successful.

“He has already done the hard part. I sort of followed in his footsteps.”

Yuen recently played the role of Obi-Wan Kenobi in a new Disney+ series.

And the actor, who first played the iconic character in the Star Wars prequel trilogy, enjoyed the experience.

He told BBC Scotland “The Edit”: “I couldn’t imagine that I would be so pleased to play him again. It was really cool, I think partly because of the new technology.”

Meanwhile, Yuen recently revealed that he didn’t give his wife any advice about joining the Star Wars universe.

The actor thought it was “cool” that Mary Elizabeth Winstead would play an unnamed role in Ahsoka, but he didn’t give her any advice about the task.

He said: “She doesn’t need any advice from me, but it was cool that when it came to her mind and she started thinking about it – we thought it was amazing – to be together in this world.

“This is what will be [always] Be with us. It’s not something that ever goes away.”
