Dubai Tourism, Hospitality, Medical Experts Meet Key Nigerian Trade Partners

The Department of Economy and Tourism of Dubai (Dubai Tourism) has announced the start of its annual roadshow in major cities of Nigeria.

The roadshow will increase, they said, to help publicity efforts to showcase Dubai’s evolving tourism offering to African tourists.

With a significant increase in the number of tourists from Africa, Dubai Tourism is committed to maintaining its momentum by strengthening relationships with all industry stakeholders in the region.

Speaking about the growing relationship between Dubai and Nigeria, Tarek Binbrek, Assistant Manager of International Relations (Africa) for Dubai Tourism, said: “Nigeria is of great importance to Dubai and we will continue to strengthen our relationship and develop strategic activities in this fast growing market. .

“The upcoming roadshow gives us an opportunity to reach out to all of our partners, agree on future trading opportunities and ensure that Dubai continues to be the focus of Nigerian travellers.

“We will continue to be present throughout the year and strive to steadily increase the number of partners we bring with us to this landmark road show each year.”

Accompanied by 32 partners from Dubai, he said: “Dubai Tourism will launch in 2022 in Abuja, followed by Port Harcourt and Lagos.

“The road show will highlight Dubai’s affordable options and the city’s diversity of offerings to key tourism partners in Nigeria. Items to be featured at the roadshow cover travel, accommodation, entertainment, and citywide activities, with a focus on family travel and medical tourism. Key elements of the event will include breakout networking sessions, partner presentations, one-on-one meetings, and hospital news.

“Nigeria was one of our top performing source markets in 2019 with a 33% year-on-year increase in visitor numbers, helped by an increase in seating from Emirates Airline between Dubai and Nigeria in the summer,” he added.
