In 2012, Dougie played his first gig in Byron Bay, Australia. Since then, he has not stopped making music in different countries and at famous festivals such as Rototom Sunsplash in Spain or Reggie Sun Ska in France for example. With his team 4’20 Sound, he hosts reggae parties in Byron Bay. In France he toured with the Bordelais of Backwash Band. The artist finds inspiration during his travels, encounters, cultures and life experiences. His lyrics are written in both French and English. What makes him a versatile artist is that he can play both his guitar and dancehall with 4’20 Sound and rub-a-dub with the Backwash Band. Based on my experience with three EPs Overseas rebellion in 2014, Boom Faya in 2015 and army of reggae fans In 2017, Dougie presents his first album called Lifestyle.
arcs begins the album with a presentation of his “Lifestyle” in order to get to know each other better. This will allow you to better understand his personality as well as his musical universe. It is with this name that one feels the power and dynamism of music performed in acoustics. We really feel an authentic, even organic side that is close to his viewer. We also feel this atmosphere when listening to the single “Music is Real”. This contrasts with “Vibration” and the more introspective second single “Let People Rise”. Each person feels and expresses vibrations differently. Everyone will appreciate that little moment that was given to playing the guitar in “Vibration”.
When acoustics rhymes with power
“Guide Dem” is a pleasure to listen to in such tense moments. Between issues related to ecology and human tension, unfortunately, there is a lot to do. Sometimes all you need is a voice, guitar, percussion accompanied by a double bass to make you vibrate. “The Music Is Real” has that effect.
