Eastern Godavari collector K. Madhavi Latha said that £15 crore would be spent on the development of the Gautami and Saraswati ghats at Rajamahendravaram. The state government recently provided £125 crore for the development and beautification of the city.
“The improvement and development of the tourist infrastructure of the Ghatami Ghat will be spent £10 crore and the works to be carried out in the Saraswati Ghat will be spent £5 crore,” said Ms. Madhavi Latha.

MP Margani Bharat, Collector and Municipal Commissioner Rajamahendravaram K. Dinesh Kumar unveiled the Mission Godavari logo during World Environment Day celebrations on Sunday. The mission is to keep the river clean.
A skimmer machine was also deployed to keep the river clear in all ghats. District authorities and municipal authorities appealed to the public to cooperate in keeping the river clean.
