June 4 and 5, Wallonia
As part of the European event “Rendez-vous aux jardins”, the non-profit organization “Parks and Gardens of Wallonia” is organizing the 6th edition of “Parks and Gardens of the Walloon Weekend”.
This year the chosen theme is “Gardens in the face of climate change”. Therefore, various park and garden managers organize events to promote their area and reflect on the role of gardens as biodiversity reserves.
The Citrouilles et Lutin Garden, located in the listed village of Esno, offers wickerwork demonstrations and rustic flower bouquet making workshops. The Japanese-inspired ArtChiVert Ardennes Garden invites visitors to discover its Zen Garden type space and the many conifers and plants that make up the curves and sculpted beds of the 67-acre estate.
On Sunday, June 5, the Château d’Atre in Hainaut puts on a theatrical performance “We must cultivate our garden.”
Also on June 5, a picnic is held at the Chateau de Freire, in the province of Namur. Shows, music, massages and wooden games will enliven the day.
