2022 seems like a big year of travel for many individuals and families. Domestic flights are more expensive, partly due to greater demand. Many people who have not traveled in the previous two years will be taking a vacation this summer.
We’ll talk about a few places you might want to visit if you hit the road this year. If you haven’t seen some of the places on our list yet, you might want to consider them if you don’t already have some good ideas.
Lake of the Ozarks
You may not want south-central Missouri at the top of your bucket list when looking at vacation destinations. However, if you fly or drive there, you will find the Lake of the Ozarks, a fun place to spend some time.
If you go there, you can rent a house by the lake and go fishing. You will find a variety of fish species, including white bass, largemouth bass, blue catfish, spotted bass, channel catfish, walleye and many more. You can also enjoy a great game of golf as there are several elite golf clubs in the area that you can pay to enter.
Maybe you like mini golf or go karting more. You can head into the cave if you don’t mind getting a little dirty. You’ll also find plenty of five-star restaurants, many of which offer fresh seafood and other delicacies.
You can explore real estate in the Lake of the Ozarks if you fell in love with this region. You may want to buy a house and live in it all year round.
Vegas
Las Vegas is like a fever dream you must experience at least once. When you get there and see that the Strip is lit up at night, it seems like a shining gem of the desert.
You can stay in an expensive hotel like Golden Nugget, Cosmopolitan, Luxor or Borgata. You can walk along the Strip and see how the fountains shoot out water in bizarre patterns. You can watch a pirate show or other shows that take place every hour for your entertainment.
If you are ready, you can go to the casino and try your luck at the tables. However, there are more than just games of chance in Las Vegas. You can get massages and manicures if you want to pay for a spa day. You can go shopping in the many souvenir shops, or you can visit some of the roller coasters or one of the many live performances.
Maybe you would like to see a review of Elvis or the Rat Pack. You can see a magic show or one of the many lounge singers. You can even renew your wedding vows if you go with your spouse.
New York
It’s hard to enjoy a typical American experience without visiting New York at least once. There is nothing like it anywhere else and you will feel it as soon as you arrive. The sheer size might scare you if you’ve lived in a small town all your life, but you’ll find plenty to do there no matter what you enjoy.
You can go to a jazz club in the Village or walk down Times Square to Broadway, where you can see long-running shows like The Phantom of the Opera, The Lion King, or The Book of Mormon. Dine at Keens Steakhouse or Balthazar.
